Do you know what this is?

Yep, Back to school supplies! The girls and I decided that Friday would be the BIG day for back to school shopping. I'm not talking clothes here, I'm talking supplies. They were so excited, they just couldn't wait to go. Me on the other hand ... not so much. I had put it off long enough so Friday was the day. All throughout the week we had talked about what we were going to get colors, themes, ... you know what I'm talking about. We poured over the
LLLOOONNNGGG list the teachers gave us and then we went through sale papers looking at what everyone had to buy. We didn't want to miss a thing. An acquaintance of mine told me
Walgreens had everything and they were cheap... that person was speaking in Tracey language CHEAP. So we decided to go there first. We get there and they don't have very much and I'm getting frustrated b/c they were supposed to have everything for cheap. So we left there and went to wally world with big smiles on our faces b/c this is a happy day. We get there and we went straight to the school stuff and right off the bat we were finding things on their lists. I was thinking why didn't we just come here in the first place. We found all but about 8 things. The best part is that it was wally world so it was CHEAP ( but things add up quickly).
Both lists combined we had to buy 60 - 65 items ~yikes ~ this wasn't including a new backpack or lunch boxes. So all of this cost minus the items we couldn't find..........

Complete craziness huh!!!! Reagan's teacher put on her list that the majority of the items "will become community property". I was allowed to put her name on 8 of the items. Now, I'm all about learning to share but give me a
flippin break. We are paying for little
Bubba over there whose parents can't afford to pay his own way or are just to sorry to buy them. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about helping someone but I think this is a little out of hand. Is this ugly of me to say? O.K. I'm done now.
Even though I was dreading this task, I had a good day!! Reagan walked around
Walmart with her backpack on before we bought it and they couldn't wait to get their hands on all their new stuff when we got home. Then they poured over it all again when Darren got home.
I remember feeling the exact same way! I'm glad some things don't change.

What a good Mommy you are!!! Loved hearing about the supply-shopping adventures. It took us several trips to Target to get it all, the first time I didn't have my list - Audrey needed THIRTY glue sticks!!! Not kidding. x)
As Room Mom, I got the distinct honor of sorting all of this CRAP for 15 students, it was really something, the hallway was packed with bags full of copy paper, kleenex boxes, baby wipes, clorox wipes, germ-x, and the list goes on and on and that was just some of the community stuff. eek. One of the kids only brought one single notebook - - little Bubba, I guess. ;)
xoxo!!
