I was a woman on a mission
Every Sunday in our Sunday school class someone brings in snacks. Well about a month ago I tried the best cake..... Darren and I had walked in late so I had no idea who had made it or even what it was. I asked who made this and what is it..... the girl who made it replied "It's just a dump cake". Well, I was on a mission after that to find a recipe for a "dump cake".... I had never heard of a dump cake. I went to Google and lo and behold there It was about 10 times. There were many variations but this one jumped out at me. The girl in Sunday school made it with blueberry pie filling. My grandmother used to make the best Cherry pie and I haven't had cherry pie in probably 18 years. (yikes that a long time) Here is the play by play! Enjoy and then go exercise!!
~ Dump Cake ~
Take 1 can Cherry Pie filling and 1 can of Crushed Pineapple and dump into 9 x13 baking dish. Then take a Yellow Cake Mix and sprinkle evenly over fruit mixture. Next take 1 stick of Margarine and 1/2 stick of Butter and slice and place over top of cake. I then thought that pecans would be delightful ( i never use that word but thought it was appropriate) on top so I put some of those on top also. The girls don't like pecans so I only put them on one side.
Bake @ 350 ~ 45 minutes to 1 hour

YUM! What's so funny is I used to make this right when John and I got married. It was good and looked like I baked something from scratch! I made mine with cherries, too!
I might have to head to Kroger and buy some pie filling!

Thanks also, for the brownie-cookie recipe you posted, they were great and the Merritt's enjoyed them while they mourned last week, I know that in the valley, chocolate can lift you up like none other - next to Jesus. :)
