The Accidental Kiss

So, I recently ran into someone I haven't seen in probably six or seven years. As I walked up to greet my old acquaintance/friend she had a huge smile on her face and said "would you like a sweaty hug" it was pretty warm where we were. I said of course ~ I mean how sweaty could someone be and after-all I haven't seen her in awhile. So I went in for the hug, my hand went to her arm and out of the blue she puckered up front and center...... so what do you do? In a matter of seconds many things went through my mind...... 1. I don't give lip kisses to anyone except my kids and Darren 2. Not even my mom 3. If i turn my cheek will this be rude? 4. What in the HECK am I supposed to do??????? I did what I thought was the polite thing to do... I puckered up and went for the lip kiss. Can you say awkward???

After telling this story to many people every one of them said they would have turned their cheek. I also talked to a few people that knew this person way better than me and they ALL said oh that's what she does.... she gives the little air kiss. What. That makes it even worse b/c how simple would it have been to just turn my head ever so slightly. How embarrassing!! Next time I know what to do!!!! Live and learn people, live and learn.
